Peggy Taylor, Sc.D.

General Manager of Neuroscience
Peggy Taylor is currently the General Manager of the Neuroscience division of BioLegend where she is responsible for scientific and operational leadership of the business. Prior to joining BioLegend in 2014, she was the director of the antibody products business unit at Covance. Peggy has worked since 2004 to lead the efforts of a development team producing and developing antibodies and immunoassays that are sold as research reagents. She has extensive experience in the development and commercialization of products in the neuroscience area. Since 2008, she has worked with the MJFF to optimize and validate a total α-Synuclein ELISA and her laboratory has performed sample analysis in support of PPMI. Peggy earned a Doctor of Science degree in cell biology from Harvard University and is a member of the New York Academy of Science and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Anna Cartier, Ph.D.

Product Manager for Neuroscience
Anna Cartier received her Ph.D. in Infection Biology from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden (2004). She then continued her postgraduate studies as a postdoctoral fellow and Project Scientist at UCSD where her primary interests focused on identifying de-ubiquitinating enzymes that regulate neuronal plasticity and are involved in neurodegenerative disorders (2004-2012). Anna joined ICB International, Inc. in 2012, as the Associate Director of Neuroscience Research, where she worked collaboratively with the executive management to shape the scientific strategy/direction of the company to develop companion diagnostics and therapeutics for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Anna joined BioLegend in 2016 as the Product Manager for Neuroscience where she manages the Neuroscience portfolio and oversees marketing efforts related to the Neuroscience Business Unit.

Liqun Wang, Ph.D.

Scientist
Dr. Liqun Wang received her Ph. D. in Biology from University of Kentucky in 2008. Afterwards, she was a postdoctoral research fellow and then research scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wang’s research has been focusing on investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of human neuronal degenerative diseases, in particularly Alexander disease (AxD), a primary astrocytic neurological disorder and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the most common cause of dementia among older people. Dr. Wang has keen interest in the roles of glial cells and glial-neuronal interaction in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases.

Leesa Pennell, Ph.D.

Technical Applications Scientist
Leesa obtained her Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Toronto where she studied immune modulation by interferon-beta in a mouse model of Multiple Sclerosis. She then joined BioLegend as a Technical Applications Scientist and has been with the company for 2.5 years. As a Technical Applications Scientist, she works with BioLegend customers in the field to provide technical knowledge regarding our products through in-lab visits, demos and seminars. Her expertise lies mainly in multiparameter flow cytometry, cell isolations, functional cell-based assays, and immunoassays. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors with her family and dog.

Kim Cardenas, Ph.D.

Technical Applications Scientist II
Kim received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from MD Anderson/UT Houston HSC, Dept. of Molecular Carcinogenesis (2011). She then completed her postdoctoral studies at UT Austin in the lab of Lauren Ehrlich, where she studied aberrant thymocyte-stromal interactions that facilitate T-ALL. She joined BioLegend in 2016 as a Technical Application Scientist and is currently supporting the Midwest. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and listening to music.
