IHC staining of anti-BG-3 Antibody (clone CLCP-19B) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue. The tissue was incubated with the primary antibody at 10µg/ml for 20 minutes at room temperature. BioLegend's Ultra Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit (Multi-Species, DAB) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining.

Description

Blood group antigens are formed by the sequential addition of saccharides to the carbohydrate side chains of lipids and proteins. These antigens can then be found on erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells. The A, B and H antigens reportedly undergo modifications during malignant cellular transformations. There are a total of sixteen genetically distinct blood group antigens including A, B (also known as blood group 3), H, Lewis A, Lewis B, Lewis X, Lewis Y, and precursor type 1 chain antigens.
