Western blot of purified anti-GABRB3 antibody (clone N87/25). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 20 µg of human brain membrane lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate; Lane 4: 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate; Lane 5: 20 µg Jurkat cell lysate. The blot was incubated with 1 µg/mL of the primary antibodies overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

IHC staining of purified anti-GABRB3 antibody (clone N87/25) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded mouse brain tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R., the tissue was incubated with 10 µg/ml of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C. BioLegend´s Ultra-Streptavidin (USA) HRP kit (Multi-Species, DAB, Cat. No. 929901) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective. Scale bar: 50 µm

Description

Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor subunit beta-3 (GABRB3) is a component of the hetero-pentameric receptor for gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate brain. The receptor is a ligand-gated multi-subunit chloride channel. The GABRB3 protein is encoded by the GABRB3 gene in humans. Mutations in this gene have been associated with the pathogenesis of several disorders including Angelman syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, epilepsy and autism.
