Description

Clec4a1 or dendritic cell inhibitory receptor 4 (DCIR4) is a C-type lectin receptor (CLR) which belongs to DC immunoreceptor (DCIR) family. Inhibitory members of DCIR family are type II membrane glycoprotein consisting of a carbohydrate recognition domain (CDR) on their COOH terminus and immunoreceptor tyrosin-based inhibitory motifs (ITIM) on their intracellular domain. Studies indicate that inhibitory DCIRs play an anti-inflammatory role and that immunopathology related to rheumatoid arthritis and TB infection is driven by their loss. Inhibitory DCIR are found on DCs, B cells, monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils, but not T or NK cells and relay signal through Src homology region 2 domain-containing phosphatase (SHP). DCIR4, yet to be confirmed to have inhibitory role, is exclusive to non-granulocytic myeloid cells and its expression level can be used to differentiate between patrolling and inflammatory monocytes.

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
